Took a ride up to the Catskills to Butternut Grove Campsites to see when the camper will be ready to start using. Unfortunately it will be a couple of weeks as they still have some snow up there. The river was looking beautiful and coming down nicely, I think the flow was around 900 or so. Standing at the banks of the Beaverkill got me excited so I took a drive past all the usual runs I like to fish. What a beautiful river it is! Opening day is right around the corner and in the nick of time. I also stopped by the Beaverkill Angler and checked out their Orvis Access reels. They replaced the Battenkill and I was really impressed how much lighter they are. Matt the store manager and Evan the owner are really nice guys too. We may even take a night float down the West branch for some trophy Browns! If you guys are ever up this way , ( and you really should be) stop in and say hi to these guys. And the'r e nymphers and streamer guys too!!! ;D

Re: The Beaverkill
thanks for the report frank. a night float down the west branch for trophy browns, yea......that'd be awesome. I think I'll stop in and say hello, and inquire about their rates.

17" browny on the Beaverkill and a little wild guy. Caught 6 from 6:30 to 12:30. Frank got 12 on the day. March Browns were coming off sporadically and a dead drifted nymph was taking fish through noon.

Dave it was nice meeting you. Glad you got to fish the Beaverkill even if only for a 1/2 day. This is what in my opinion TPO is about. Meeting new people , sharing fishing techniques, sreams and having fun.
The Prince of nymphs took most of my fish today. 10 stockie browns and 2 wild bows. Dave got the biggest fish! Good Times!

E mail me the pictures at Aaron1276@aol.com and I'll put them up if you want.
It sounds like you guys had a great time. Also, talk to Brandon about selling his stuff in the store. Justin and I talked about it at length. We would only take 5%. That's leas than anyone else would take. Plus the traffic is there already. It's just that he would be contributing to the site.

Aaron that brown was either a hybrid brown rainbow....or a hybrid bown brook. Cant say... but it was the most unique looking fish!

Hatcheries can make some interesting products :) They breed so many fish that you never know what you are going to come out with. I would like to see it!
