Here is a pattern that I tyed. I was going to tye up some green weenies and said why not just tye a wet fly. So here is the fly that has worked for me when I felt a need to fish with Green Weenies. The fly is called W3's which stands for winged wet weenies. This fly has done a good job for the times I am getting skunked and would switch off to a green weenie to start catching fish. So far in PA and NJ streams the fly has produced.
All of you flys are so beautiful. Keep up the good work!

Re: W3's
Nice. I have found in my own personal fishing that the Browns really like green.

Re: W3's
The "Vladi" is'nt much used in my fishing too much but I have tied and caught many fish on green Vladi's. These days I tie them on Khale hooks. I was finding that alot of the smaller fish would "dog bone" the fly and too many fish were getting hooked in not good places. A Khale hooked dressed in the Vladi style in dark-olive is a dead ringer for a crane fly larva ;) In white-cream and a dark brown-black head is a perfect grub. Try it out I think you'll like it.

Re: W3's
How do you fish that fly. I usually fish the green weenie like a nymph. I woild think your W3 would need to be swung and stripped.

what about the classic green highlander, how does that fair with the trout, I know for a fact salmon like them but I've never used them on trout.
