I got into modifying factory dubbing a little while back and found I can get some great results in matching nymphs in different rivers. I like to mix a dark gray and copper paxtons antron blend with lots of guard hairs for hare's ear nymphs and I have had great success with it. Do any of you guys have special blends for Iso nymphs or any other flies in our area?

Re: Dubbing recipes
I never have but that sounds very interesting. You found the specific mixed flies to be more effective than standard dressings?

Re: Dubbing recipes
In some areas absolutely. The standards are tried and true and will always produce fish, but if I roll rocks and find one stream has abnormal colored nymphs I try to simulate that. There is a small stream that is a few miles from me where the nymphs are extremely pale in color so I make a hares ear dubbing with a little mask, cream and tan and a bit of gray. Then use tan wire for the rib and dun mallard flank for the wing case. It really smokes in that stream. Add a copper bead for weight and it's all over.
