Staten Island for bass

I've been fishing different lakes and ponds on Staten Island and believe me there are big bass in this part of NYC. I was able to fish during the new moon cycle of last week. fish were active and aggressive I caught this fish in a small annex of wolfes pond park. there are a dozen lakes and ponds that have public access. all can be reached by public transportation. a couple can be float tube and some can be waded but you'd better be able to single hand spey cast or at the very least roll cast because these areas have lots of trees.

Nice job man. I spend a lot of time on the Island, and always wondered about it's ponds. I've seen hogs come out of Central Park, and have even seen people catch bass in the park by CSI. I might have to keep some streamers handy when I go visit for now on.

the bass on the bottom is from the lake near CSI. I hope to get a permit to fish at the boy scout camp for next year; fishing is reported to be very good there. surface action should start soon!
