nothing like a carp on a fly rod!
Re: St-Laurence river carp
Sabalo,
I live about 1 hour from Montreal - in Northern Vermont- and have always wanted to fish the the St. Laurence. I was wondering where on the St. Laurence is there easy access for wading and what license/permits does a non-resident need to fish Quebec?
Re: St-Laurence river carp
Hey dublhaul you do not need to go all the way up to Canada. Plenty of large carp in lake Champlain. You saw the you tube videos on streamandbrook.com in the"Gallery" right?
Re: St-Laurence river carp
Yeah I saw that video...it's the same distance to Lake Champlain as Montreal for me- so I guess I'm just checking my options. Do you fish much in the northern part of the lake? I've been over there so few times that I often feel a little overwhelmed when I do go...I like Missisquoi Bay for early season pike and later in the summer I've fished around the islands for smallies...never seen any carp there though. Are they tough to locate? Hit or miss fishing?
Re: St-Laurence river carp
I grew up in Grand Isle. I have never targeted carp for fishing but there is a lot around. They are in the swampy areas.
Re: St-Laurence river carp
Whoa, wish we had them like that around here
Re: St-Laurence river carp
there are 30+ lb carp in central park and prospect park in NYC. you will have to catch them when they are feeding on the surface as the water is not clear.
