Housatonic Fishing Report 4/18/10
Spent most of the day on the river with limited success. Water is still quite cold and the fish are not very active. There was a decent Hendrickson hatch around 2:30 that lasted for about 1 and 1/2 hours. A few rising fish here and there but for the most part very limited surface activity. Picked up a few rainbows on streamers. Left the river at 5:30.

Sorry to hear about youR dissappointing outing. You have to be skeptical of those fishing reports.
The Farmington fished very well for holdover fish and there were many risers ad well. There were blue quills, baetis, quill gordons and a few nendricksons on the water.

emeyer, did you try any subsurface emergers?

Yes, I tried Nymphs unweighted near the surface as well as a drowned cripple/dun. They were just really fussy. For some reason most guys were just catching rainbows. Do you have a fly pattern that works in this situation?
