Re: Fishing Long Island, NY?
Not sure if you can get on the Connequot or not this early, but it fishes well all year. I'm sure you can find out by googling it.
Re: Fishing Long Island, NY?
According to NYSDEC's latest report, Connetquot is scheduled to be only open on Weekends, though I saw people in there today as I passed by. Connetquot is a State Park and our brilliant Governor is shutting all kinds of State Parks because of budget constraints. The Carman's will only open in season and is a County Park, admission used to be $3.00 a day. I know nothing about Nissequoge preserve however. "Doc"
Re: Fishing Long Island, NY?
hmmm...I am going to be working out on Long Island for the next 3 weeks and was wondering the same thing. I'll do some research and report back what I find out. I really hope there is some trout water somewhere that is open during the week or I'll be bumming.
Re: Fishing Long Island, NY?
I think Caleb Smith state park is only open during statewide trout season. But why do trout when there are so many schoolies around?
Re: Fishing Long Island, NY?
Schoolies? Hadn't thought about that. I can get out the 8wt and do schoolies. Any suggestions where to go? I will be working in Nassau County.
