Email me about this.
Developing revenue streams for the site is and should be the committee's first priority. I do feel however that a euro clinic by AJ makes a lot of sense to offer in the aftermath of all the excitement and interest he generated at the shows. If he is agreeable to do this, I can provide him with all the logistical support necessary without drawing on the resourses of the committee. It can be promoted on the site and through the various flyshops and organizations in the area. We as a committee are charged with the responsibility of promoting the viability of TPO. We have a great group here with a lot of great ideas and plans. It's my feeling that an AJ clinic can move ahead adjacent to our efforts with TPO and will benefit us in the long run.
I'm in agreement and happy to help with anything that helps my good friend Aaron out. I know he is always repping TPO, no matter where he goes.
Yes, he is the ultimate TPO rep for sure. When Justin and Aaron started this site I'm sure they both hoped but didn't expect TPO to be what it is today. The site has its own needs now which have in my opinion evolved in a different direction. All of us here are average fly fishermen at best. I of course exclude DW who is one of the most knowlegable fly fisherman on the planet. Elite fly fishermen like Davy and Aaron are able to market and sell their services and knowlege just the way we average guys do in our own business environments. This is the way they make a living. On the other hand, the basic premise of our site is to provide a venue for free educational content about our sport.
Any of us would balk at the thought of going into work tomorrow and be informed, we want you to work for free today because our clients are trying hard to get what they can without paying for it.To me it is an absurd conundrum. I pose this question, where would an educational site be without the educators? It is my belief we need to be sensitive to this and to nurture an environment which would encourage other experts as well to come to the site and promote their services or a product much the way Pete Erickson did with the Echo rod.
Justin is on top of this concept. Look at how willing that famous fly tyer was to promote his fancy 60 dollar bobbin. Justin may have stumbled onto something here. If we help them sell, they will come! Our video technology is a huge asset. Our store is as well. Expansion of the store may have unlimited potential. It is my view that nonprofit status may limit our growth which is so dependant on professional participation.
