Penns Creek 3-7-2009

Went to Penns Creek again, awesome weather, really good fishing in the morning and then the fish just shut off. We were followed around 2 miles of water by some guys doing a water buffalo stampede through the water in front of us. We would move and then without fail they would move upstream of us with the stealth of an elephant. We are going to do a little tip of the month on approaching water soon.

Aside from that, I caught a 19-20" brown on my third euro nymphing cast but Aaron was already a half mile upstream so I couldn't get a picture with the clunky camcorder, I had also fought him quite a while as I thought I had the PA state record on the line! They feel bigger at the end of that long leader!

great lookin stream great looking fish. aaron how do you like that monster loop rod?

I really like the rod. However, its a big pricey at almost 700 bucks. The Greys Rod is a much better deal. I am short so the extra foot helps me out big time ;D

As for fish whipping ability the Greys is slightly better as the rod is more of a mid-flex. The LOOP rod is most of a mid/tip flex. The rod has a very stiff butt section.

Very nice, once again...wish I was there. I also like the new banners at top of page. The Loop "magic wand" looks awesome too. I can't believe that rod. It is an 11ft 3wt designed to cast a light line (perfect for long line Euro nymphing) yet only weighs 120g!!! Only 4 1/4oz are you kidding me? Thanks for letting us all live vicariously through you for this weekend.

I almost forgot, the pictures of Aaron hunched over are because he was in such a hurry upstream that he stepped on a root on the edge of the bank, which broke, and went face first right into the water! I wish I could have captured it on video.

Good job on the pix Juice, it would be funny if you put captions on the ones after Aaron's fall, bet he had some choice words >:(. BTW, I like the new banners on top of the pages, they are a nice change of pace from all the fish pix.

;D Ah yes, I was going to ask Aaron if he really worked up a sweat or took a pratfall. Now I know---but it will be our little secret----oh yeah----bwah-hah-hah-hah---been there, done it, got the Tee shirt, medal, pin and certificate plus all the photographic evidence.. You think my son would let that go by---nah! That is a great stream and nice fish prizes---my son and I have fished it several times---I really like the Tulpy it's closer to his home. 8)

I was just checkign out some of your guys PA post and I don't see any Fishing Lisc on any of you guy. Maybe I am missing something but just so you are aware in PA you are suppose to have your Lisc displayed on your clothing. Just a heads up some wardens are really particular about this.

They can give me a warning or the 20 ticket if they want. I am not going to lose the license and go through all the crap needed to get another one. Its in my wallet with the other ten that I own I fish so many different places with so many different things on that I am not going to change. When they see all money that I spend on licenses they understand.
