Church Pool

Took a quick trip up the Farmington River this morning - brrrr. The first two are the Still River above where Sandy Brook joins in. The last two are at Chuch Pool

Nice pictures! I had the same idea, and actually "fished" for a while. I really wasn't cold, but my rod and reel were!

The river looks to be about as cold as it can get. If it gets any colder the water will cease to flow ;D

I took a trip out there too today (1/25/09) everything was frozen. But, however the flow and clarity was perfect. I fished ovation, church, and halfords all of which were frozen. The high
air temperature for the day was 24 degrees. Didn't catch a thing but it was nice to be out there.

I measured the water temperature in a shady flow at 31.4 deg! Water is extremely clear.

Once you all get your ice fishing shanty set up on the river, drill a hole with your auger, and bait up with some Spikes or Mousies. You will knock 'em dead.

Screw that one buddy! I am going whole salmon parr ;)
