Hit the Farmington this am for a few hours. Once again, slow. The river was mobbed today. I spent a lot of time outside the TMA. Hit some nice runs and managed one small brown for my efforts. Knocked off around 11:30am. I think I am Housy bound next Sunday. Maybe do the Housy in the am and the Farmington in the pm. Or vice versa.

Re: Slow am on the Farmy
Sammy,
Hey at least your catching something now! I recall you not getting any action at all. Soon there will be a trout ready to eat those flies rather than a parr. The parr should be heading down river very shorty, just in time to get eaten by the fall migration of stripers and bluefish.
On a side note, to the people who complain about the parr in the river and how its a waste of money, besides feeding the big trout they do serve a purpose. If they were to shut down that national hatchery the money used to run their operation would not be put to other fisheries or another hatchery but rather put back into the general budget and be spent on something other than fishing. I don't know about you guys, but I would rather see them spend millions of dollars on a fish hatchery to get a return of 150 Atlantic Salmon rather than see more politicians make more money by mis-spending our tax dollars.
