View Full Version : Total Disaster

Tarpon are a very hard to catch fish for starters. The conditions coupled with today's morning event has made this trip a total disaster.

This morning the Tarpon started rolling ALL over the place maybe 100's. There is a "local famous guy" out there. The guide that I took out gets cut off by him as we are going to the fish. The guide that I am using gives this "famous guy" free trips all of the
time in hopes that This "famous guy" helps him with his business.

The other guy hooks up and asks my guide to help him. My guide did help him. He landed his Tarpon after 25 minutes. While the guy was fighting his fish the Tarpon were rolling like crazy and all I could do was watch. It got to the point where I almost cried. There was nothing I could do. When they released the fish and we went back over there they were gone. Zero fish. That was my chance. At that moment I can honestly say that I have never been so disgusted and angry at a person and fishing.

You would think that this guy who boasts of landing thousands of Tarpon would say, "Nick get your client one". And or Nick would have cut him off to catch a fish for me. I have never seen that many Tarpon in one place, even on fishing shows.

I just put this here in case any of you were wondering how this is going.

To put it in my terms this is "bullshit"

That is total crap. Needless to say, none of us will be recommending your guide Nick! Hang in there.

You know what, the worst part is that he is a super person. However, with these fish here you have to be cut throat. Just because they are your friends off the water does not mean that you should be nice to them on the water. This guy does not put food on his table.

Does this mean Nick gets no tip?

What did you say the other day about guides who do things for free?

Don't even start. I paid full both prior days. No person would have payed for the bullshit yesterday.

Also, I wouldn't say anything about people not paying. How well did you do at the Housatonic. If it weren't for John hiring the guide you would have not even gotten lucky to hook a fish that day.

Wow, somebody's a little grumpy huh? Easy there tiger.

Have I ever free loaded off you? Have I ever asked you to take me some place? No.

I've asked you advice while fishing, yes. I've asked you what you thought good spots were, sure. I've asked you about rigging, etc. just like everyone else on this site of yours.

Not once have I ever free loaded off you you smug son of a bitch ;D.

I went up to the housatonic to have some fun with my friends. I did that. You offered to show me a spot to fish. I went there. When we were lower down at the end of the day and you had caught a bunch of fish in the flow, you called to me to come fish that spot, so I did. At no time, at no place ever have I asked you to guide me for nothing. So lets make that clear. I pay guides when I use them. Now you got a problem with me asking you advice when we're fishing as friends, then what the fuck is this whole site for?

As for your freeloading insinuations, next time I fish with you, I'll pay you. You keep the rods rigged up for me and row the boat. We'll make this a professional relationship if you feel I'm free loading off you. I'll be sure to book you as a guide just as soon as I want to be guided on the Housy.

Oh, and next time you call me asking me some legal bullshit about your students, I'll be sure to send you a bill. I'm only $285 an hour.

The funny thing is when I give you advice it works. I come through and help you. We have been trying to do this LLC thing for a year now and there is none.so I see it as me helping you and you just taking. As for the site and advice for others that is a different situation.

I'm going to disagree with you here aaron, I'm not quite sure what you are so upset about, but accusing someone of freeloading is a major accusation. Especially a friend.

This site was created for the dissemination of information, so people "freeloading" information off of you is basically the point of the whole thing. The idea is that you help people with their fishing in the spirit of good will and hope that the word gets around that you are generous, kind, and know what you are talking about and that leads to more business opportunities.

As for the LLC thing, Regan would do that for me in a heartbeat if I seriously sat down and asked him to do it, on another note, I actually know how to do it myself, so if you are eager to do so, just come down here and I'll show you how, or call me up and ask me, I'll walk you through it online.

Regardless, the point is we are all friends here, and all Regan did was remind you that you often do say that anything you get cheaper usually doesn't turn out as well, which personally I don't think is true.

Now, that might have upset you in your current state of mind, however, the truth is you turned that small comment into a personal attack on Regan, his integrity and his intentions toward you as a person. I don't really think that is fair.

Regan, no need to fire it back either.

Bottom line... we are all friends here, lets try and not accuse each other of intending one another some sort of harm. Lets try and keep in calm and cordial and friendly and lay off any personal attacks.

Neither of you get it. I paid him for the previous two days and I was going to pay him for that too. I paid 450 per day. When he pulled that stunt I told him to take me in. So there should not.have been any smart ass comment at all. I know anyone who gives a deal is doing so for a reason. And I paid the other guide on Tuesday as well. So I paid 1450 and didn't catch a Tarpon.
