An Introduction from Aaron Jasper Himself

Hey everyone, my name is Aaron Jasper. I fish an average of 200-250 days a year, and I have been fly fishing since the age of seven. I really lucked out when I began, because my Aunt was an acquaintance of Lefty Kreh through his photography seminars. I was very fortunate to be given several lessons at fishing shows from Lefty at a young age. I can cast well thanks to him, but the funny part is I can cast much better than I can explain it.  I remember he gave me 3 flies he had personally tied, and I of course fished them on the Flatbrook in NJ- all eventually ended up in the same tree.  Wonder what they would be worth now if I still had them all?  Oh well...

I really learned how to fly fish from my grandpa- he was a true Predator. I remember fishing with him as a kid, he was tough to keep up with. He was like a vacuum cleaner on a trout stream, catching everything in his path. He also taught me that no matter what I do, to do it on an all or nothing basis, to do things well, and to be the best at what I do.  Grandpa showed me how to catch tons of trout on bait, lures and flies.  To this day, I've never seen anyone who could match his skill at catching trophy stripers, he was amazing.   All of this was passed down from him to me during countless fishing trips together.  Thanks Grandpa, I'll never forget what you taught me.

My early fly fishing took me to New Jersey trout streams such as the Flat Brook, Ramapo and Pequest Rivers. Since the start of my fly fishing, I have been fortunate to fish some of the greatest trout streams around the country, fishing extensively in the East, as well as travelling across the country to experience some of the very best fly fishing available out West. As a result of my travels, I have learned many techniques, flies and rigs that have enabled me constantly grow and improve as a fisherman.

I fish in many different conditions, because I like the challenge. If it is snowing or freezing cold, you will find me fishing. If the streams are blown out, I will be there. I fish in these extreme conditions to find new techniques that will work.

I have been lucky to have a great crew of fly fisherman to fish with. From my friends Torrey and Alex, to Rich and Mike, together we have figured out some of the best fly patterns, leader formulations and techniques to catch trout in almost any river or stream, anywhere on the planet.

Until now I have remained in a stealth mode of sorts. I have been watching people giving up the same information over and over again. My goal is to help the average fly fisherman catch more fish where they live. I might not be able to explain the false casting as well as some of the expert instructors, but what I can do is teach people how to catch fish, how to become a true Predator. I am not into advertising exotic locations. I want to see more people have more success, and I thoroughly enjoy making people better fisherman. This would be my mission statement.

When you put all of this together, you have the power to catch more trout, on any outing anywhere.

Please enjoy my site, sit down, stick around for a little while and enjoy our reports, our instruction, and the beautiful trout. We hope you make Trout Predator Online your favorite source for fly-fishing information.

My experience and knowledge will give you the power to become the best fisherman you can be, and put you on the path to releasing your Inner Predator!"
